Why is it OK to wear a t-shirt that says “Gap”?
A new rule in Los Angeles is allowing customers to wear t-shirts that say “Gaps” and “Lakers” on them to signify their preference for the team they support.
The rule has sparked controversy online because it has been interpreted as a sign of support for the Lakers, a team that has been plagued by injuries and a lack of depth.
But the rule is in line with many sports in that it is intended to promote a team or its players, not to signal support for a player.
The Lakers have a record of losing five straight games to start the season.
The team has also missed the playoffs for the first time since 1993-94.
